The UK aerospace industry is facing a record backlog of orders following a series of successful international trade fairs, highlighting the sustained recovery of global aviation and the demand for next-generation, fuel-efficient engines.
Major manufacturers like Rolls-Royce and their extensive UK supply chain have seen order books swell to levels not seen since 2019. The focus is squarely on 'Ultra-Fan' technology and sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) compatible systems.
"The challenge has shifted from finding work to finding the capacity to build it," said a spokesperson for the ADS Group. "Investment in automated manufacturing and skills is now the top priority."
Government ministers have pledged further support for the sector's net-zero transition, viewing aerospace as a critical pillar of Britain's industrial strategy.
